Tesla Motors Inc. is opening six new electric-vehicle charging stations in Ontario and Quebec this summer, allowing Tesla owners to travel farther without range anxiety.

The company’s so-called superchargers can replenish a battery faster than regular charging stations, adding up to 200 kilometres of range in as little as 20 minutes. The network is designed to allow for city-to-city travel in electric vehicles, and is free for Tesla drivers.

Tesla opened a charging station in Grimsby, Ont., last week, allowing electric-vehicle drivers to travel between Upstate New York, Niagara Falls, Toronto and Detroit.
